Rolls Royce Phantom $485,275

According to USA Today a 2017 Rolls Royce Phantom sold for $485,275. It is interesting to note that the Phantom line of the Rolls Royce has actually been out since the 1920s. Iterations are made on the design every few years.

1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 427 LS6 $1,150,000

The 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle is known to be one of the most expensivecars made in the 70s. This muscle car has a classic Chevy design with race stripes on the hood.

The Chevelle also an incredibly powerful engine for the time. Sporting a 450 horsepower LS6, the Chevelle was a beast in drag races.

1965 Shelby Cobra 427 Roadster $1.5 Million

The sleek form factor of this car is hard to miss. This car was crazy aerodynamic. This curvy car could reach top speeds of 160.5 mph! The Roadster also went 0 – 60 in 4.5 seconds.

 Shelby muscle cars rank among the most expensive muscle cars ever made. The 1965 variant was rare to see on the streets. This was due to the fact that Shelby missed the certification window to make the Cobra street legal in 1965.

Once the Shelby Cobra 427 passed its certification steps, Shelby added windshields to the vehicle to make them street legal.

1969 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 $1 Million

The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro is a legend among muscle cars. The engine was so powerful at a haunting 435hp it had no hope of becoming street legal.  The powerful engine of this car allowed it to go from 0-60 in 5.3 seconds.

The ’69 Chevrolet Camaro was only made possible because of the Central Office Production Order program. The COPO program allowed for direct to factory orders that created deviations on classic Chevy models. This is the reason only 69ZL1s were ever sold!

Hennessey Venom Spyder $1.2 million

On March 25th 2016 the Hennessey Venom won the record for the world’s fastest convertible. Clocking in at 265.5 mph this Texas built car has broken tons of records.

1962 Shelby Cobra 260 $13,750,000

The Shelby Cobra 260 was known as the very first Cobra to be put into production. At this point in time Shelby was a new company and didn’t actually have the first car model built before it was shown to the public. To get around this Shelby essentially pulled the wool over potential suitors’ eyes by painting over the parts of the car that wasn’t finished.

The Cobra 260 not technically being finished didn’t matter to many interested in the car as it finally sold for $13,750,000.

1968 Ford GT40 Gulf/Mirage Coupe $11,000,000

On June 18, 1967 Dan Gurney won the Belgian Grand Prix in this legendary car. This car also won races in Sweden and France.

If you’re getting Déjà Vu it’s not just you. The ’68 GT40 looks very similar to the car in the famous Japanese anime, Speed Racer.
